UV Fading

Ultraviolet (UV) fading is the gradual change of color or gloss in a finish caused by exposure to sunlight.

Other causes for fading are:

• improper maintenance
• mechanical failure of the paint
• fall out

Depending on paint condition and the severity, some repair solutions that can be used to restore a faded finish are:

• light hand polishing
• light compounding with a buffer
• light wet sanding & buffing.
